#FramePacing
Capcom's up to their shenanigans again with their anti-tamper on PC. No wonder the framepacing is such dogwater.

which like... IWBTG is windowed so like CRT shit didn't help the frame pacing at all but who was talking about shit like framepacing in 2007?

Ok this feels really smooth. This is still heavy on the CPU but the framepacing is a LOT better than DD2 was.

Sega Rally Revo has a quite weird framepacing issue with an even weirder workaround...

It's one of those bugs where I can't even begin to guess what went wrong.

framepacing and I honestly wonder if tying game logic to framerate and hard locking it at 30fps just does something to make movement look smoother

By the way, if you were wondering:
- Video capture is H.264 1080p 30 FPS (screenshots are 1080p)
- F-Zero X on N64 NSO DOES run way better than Switch 1... but it feels like there's bad framepacing from time to time? Not nearly as annoying as before but it's still like 60 FPS 95% of the time.

Anyway Special K is updated and framepacing is MUCH better with Reflex now.

There's one part of me that wants to change PC just because of framepacing issues on like, every retro emulator I use and I still haven't figured out why
February 10, 2025 at 12:41 AM
Actually... I wonder if the review branch still works? The framepacing wasn't *as bad* on that, as far as I can remember. Time to see how that affects things...

Framepacing, usually. A lot of modern 30FPS games have really jittery frame delivery, with Bloodborne being the most infamous example

Can someone tell me why it is that Epic Games just can't seem to get framepacing right in Unreal Engine?

is there a reason why mgba in fullscreen has ass framepacing

🦝cursed with the ability to hear the very minor tell of "song made in famitracker that doesn't have a BPM in line with the NES' clock rate"

you get these extremely subtle timing mismatches between notes, and we can hear them. It's like the song has bad framepacing

I had the chance to play it at gamescom, and it ran pretty smoothly with no drops or uneven framepacing. Granted it was just one section, and could be cherry picked. But if the rest of the game runs like that as well, the 30 fps shouldn't be a problem, especially if higher would be unstable.
Square Enix confirms that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (Switch 2) runs at a "stable 30 frames per second offering smooth performance and crisp visuals."

Releasing this winter

🦌me in my mind: the notes in this song aren't resolving correctly on the beats of the time signature that the backing melody implies, which is why the song feels weirdly off

what comes out: the framepacing of my music is wrong

Doesn't look like any kind of AI was used either, I gotta try this when I get home from work

FF13fix is fine but it basically only works for XIII and XIII-2 lmao

Potentially fixing LR's janky ass framepacing is huge

I helped Mikhail with some testing this time, game actually performs pretty well on my handheld with great framepacing. It's a demanding game but very technically competent.
We also checked out The Blood of Dawnwalker on Steam Deck, ROG Ally, and MSI Claw. Our thoughts with Rebel Wolves' RPG on PC handhelds: https://www.rpgsite.net/feature/21238-the-blood-of-dawnwalker-steam-deck-full-game-recommended-settings-rog-ally-performance-msi-claw
