#FramePacing
Doesn't look like any kind of AI was used either, I gotta try this when I get home from work

FF13fix is fine but it basically only works for XIII and XIII-2 lmao

Potentially fixing LR's janky ass framepacing is huge

is there a reason why mgba in fullscreen has ass framepacing

I helped Mikhail with some testing this time, game actually performs pretty well on my handheld with great framepacing. It's a demanding game but very technically competent.

Maybe I'm just not good at spotting this stuff, but I never had a problem running games through RA. Wouldn't that be an issue with specific cores? The main reason I'm still using RA is because of its ability to eliminate framepacing stutter because I have no sync monitor.

One big reason I use RetroArch is that it has an option to fix the framepacing so I get zero microstutter no matter what refresh rate I'm using or console I want to play. I do not have a form of sync monitor so this is great for me.

Also holy FUCK the game has serious performance issues and input lag, honestly reminds me of v1.0 Bloodborne without the framepacing issues

Plus, I'm just not sure if this has the meat to be a $60 release. It's much more experimental than Nightreign but it still screams "we're paying the bills" lol
August 22, 2026 at 3:33 AM
I Have thought about opening one up, but honestly it's such a specific issue I don't know what/how exactly it even works that I'm just shelving it unless future revisions of this RC have yet to fix it, there's already an incredibly minor framepacing bug they're aiming to fix soon anyway

framepacing and I honestly wonder if tying game logic to framerate and hard locking it at 30fps just does something to make movement look smoother
August 4, 2026 at 7:19 PM
Framepacing, usually. A lot of modern 30FPS games have really jittery frame delivery, with Bloodborne being the most infamous example

framepacing on modern 30 FPS games is awful they got so much worse at it

For real the treatment this series is getting for Switch 2 is such a monkey paw moment. Bad upscalers, bad framepacing, not even locked 60fps. No options for the player either.
July 24, 2026 at 8:13 PM
Games get capped to 30fps with framepacing adjusted to around that to be solid, then they unlock that cap and don't do anything to keep the game stable. So now you have games that have constant judder because it's more 45-60fps depending on what's going on.
July 24, 2026 at 8:09 AM
I just tried it. As cool as it is, it destroyed the framepacing for me, despite a solid average framerate.
July 23, 2026 at 3:06 AM
yeah, cross buy and cross save thankfully

framepacing is wonky on conker unlike consoles so i'm gonna wait for a patch (which DF says is coming)

Vor allem auf Bazzite. Framepacing ist da so viel besser :D

i guess one good thing about ff7 rebirth's framepacing being shit no matter what i do is that i can set my gpu power limit to minimum without it having that big an impact on performance
July 5, 2026 at 4:35 AM
its like this on windows, mods help but like yeah its a pretty good port otherwise but the framepacing is fucked and it hitches in a way that slightly nauseates me
July 4, 2026 at 4:47 AM
ff7 rebirth's framepacing kinda blows huh
July 4, 2026 at 4:40 AM

Hot Pursuit 2's framepacing on PC sucks so I tested the next thing in my game folder which happened to be this lmao
