Vehicle drivers will now find it easier to shop around for the best fuel prices as Google Maps display them in real time. This follows a recommendation by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). Within 30 minutes of changing prices on the forecourt petrol stations must report their prices - or they risk a fine. The CMA can enforce this. Most petrol stations are inputting the data to FuelFinder and this is used on apps including Waze, the AA, Confused.com and now this is integrated with Google Maps. As fuel prices rise as a result of war in the Middle East the government estimated that households can save around £40 a year by using the new information.
