I think I like this underlining technique quite a bit. It simulates nakatoji along the long body hemlines without needing the hand sewing.
It’s a lot of fussing with the pins but the result drapes beautifully.

This project has taught me how much more I enjoy traditional art media. I won’t be doing another surface design uploads of my stencils to spoonflower unless someone makes a request. It’s just joyless compared to letting ink and dye flow.
