Plant trait ecologists: Does anyone know of datasets with functional-trait measurements taken specifically from ornamental cultivars, rather than species-level values derived from wild populations? (SLA, LDMC, leaf C:N, SRL...)

In the High Arctic, seabird colonies act as nutrient pumps, delivering marine-derived nutrients to terrestrial ecosystems. This marine subsidy increases plant height, leaf size, and nutrient content, pushing communities towards more resource-acquisitive traits. 🌱💧 #FunctionalEcology #Svalbard 2/n

Reflecting on my own functional work it is clear traits like longevity, morphology and mobility can help us predict how species react to disturbance and describe how, if at all, repopulation can occur. #FunctionalEcology can be used as a tool to explore the trajectory of disturbed ecosystems. 🧪🦑🌎

Landscape composition metrics—such as habitat cover and patch size—had positive effects, especially on functional richness.
So yes: habitat amount still matters.
But it is not the whole story.
