Really happy to have taken part in the “Exercise is Medicine in Neurological Disorders” session at the GCSSM in Tübingen and to have presented the first results from our HealthFit project! 💪🧠
We wrap up our “Tour des présentations” at the GCSSM with Dr. Florian Javelle, head of our research unit.
He shared first results from the HealthFit study, exploring how HIIT and stretching influence depressive symptoms and the kynurenine pathway in MDD, from acute responses to clinical adaptation!

Another of our PhD candidates, Matthias, presented the initial findings from the MoodRides study at the GCSSM in Tübingen: in a crossover study, patients with depression undertook HIIT and self-selected intensity training.

Throwback to @alinejatian.bsky.social's presentation at the GCSSM in Tübingen. As one of our PhD students, he presented relevant findings on how exercise modulates inflammasomes in neurodegenerative & -psychiatric disorders. Great to see our team’s work being discussed at such an exciting congress!

How does a single bout of exercise shape our immune response? 🧬 At the GCSSM in Tübingen, Miriam Ringleb, a member of our unit, presented her meta-analyses, connecting myokine responses with immune-cell dynamics and showing how exercise type, intensity and duration shape these responses. 💪🔬

And then… straight from science to the Olympics of the Institutes! 🏅😂
Many thanks to the Austrian and Potsdam teams for hosting Matthias and Florian and bringing them to the top!
