Non-genomics people: haha, evolution is funny!

Genomics people: *staring moodily at six 70%-similar genes* It do be like that.

🧬📝🚨 Out today: A genomics learning framework for undergraduates

We hope this will be one more tool to help integrate genomics into undergraduate education by supporting evidence-based curriculum design with a set of standardized concepts.

A genomics learning framework for undergraduates
Genomics is an increasingly important part of biology research. However, educating undergraduates in genomics is not yet a standard part of life sciences curricula. We believe this is, in part, due to...

June 21st was the last CDC update of SARS-CoV-2 genomics.
That is inexcusable and represents an abdication of responsibility

My kid has a bleeding disorder and we just received an email from the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation that yesterday "nearly all staff within the CDC’s Division of Blood Disorders and Public Health Genomics" will be fired, so fuck you, RFK Jr, and all the senators who approved his nomination.

This is eugenics nonsense
Trump: "The genetics in that family are very strong. You have good genes. They were asking me, 'What does that mean?' I said, 'Don't worry about it. You'll figure it out.' But you have the best genes you can have."

Our review is out in Nature Reviews Genetics! rdcu.be/d5AY2

We show how phylogeny-based methods can resolve the problem of non-independence in genomic datasets.

These methods must be considered an essential part of the comparative genomics toolkit.

If any journalist wants to talk to a trans man with a PhD in Human Genomics who was trained in labs that studied the evolution of sex, I'm right here

Or just keep platforming Republicans who have a 5th grade understanding of biology so they get more trans people killed, sure 🤷🏻‍♂️
