Somebody tell me not to go take a closer look at the mass timber connections

💡 Nerd Fact: Rising 26 feet tall, “Hallow” is made from wood, steel, and GFRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete). It was part of Popper’s “Human+Nature” exhibition, designed to evoke the feeling of entering the “heart” of the forest.

UMI is a large sculptural piece by Daniel Popper that depicts a woman made of twisted and bent wood, cradling her oversized belly. The piece is open here, as if inviting you inside. Umi means life in Swahili and mother in Arabic. Made from steel and GFRC
