EU/IRINI should explain why they did not detain the Toa Payoh.

EU/IRINI should explain why they did not detain the Toa Payoh.

IMO doesn’t know who owns it… it’s one of the almost 7000 ships with no known owner in the UN database, making it a very sketchy boat indeed!

It's Sierra Leone flagged tankers making this interesting - while Cameroon started & continues cleaning up its registery, there is not a single vessel listed as Sierra Leone (false) in IMO's database #GISIS.

It's Sierra Leone flagged tankers making this interesting - while Cameroon started & continues cleaning up its registery, there is not a single vessel listed as Sierra Leone (false) in IMO's database #GISIS.

Cameroon used to be the latest go-to-place for #shadowfleet tankers. Since mid April, 7 tankers left that register again. Cameroon's promised register cleanup seems to show effect. 👏

Seems my suspicion has some grounds. Stay tuned, may know more later today or tomorrow. Swedens #Transportstyrelsen should certainly not release #SeaOwl1 just now.
UPD: Acc. to TV4, Swedish authorities got #SeaOwl1's flag change confirmed by Cameroonian authorities. Something odd is going on here....see thread.

Cameroon actually has a lot of sanctioned tankers in its official registry. S&P, on behalf of the IMO (GISIS) , is checking with the there authority quite intensively on each new tanker moving to Cameroon. This flag is likely valid, as sad as it is....

Do you refer to Cameroon's announcement from Feb 6 here? So far, Cameroon doesn't seem to have delisted many ships. Acc. to #GISIS, just 5 are listed as CM False. We still see many ships changing their AIS flag status to Cameroon, with only a few switching AIS from Cameroon to e.g. Sierra Leone.

I checked out Somalia on GISIS. It got updated to what I through was a fake ship registry.
Now, why would I think it is fake?
Because the website is hosted on the same webserver, as a bunch of websites that are obviously fake.
Co-locating with scam websites is a huge red flag!

Više od 500 brodova svijetom plovi pod lažnom zastavom
**Međunarodna pomorska organizacija zabilježila je čak 529 brodova koji plove pod lažnim zastavama.**
Prema izvješću koje je tajništvo IMO-a od ukupno 529 brodova, njih 356 nije klasificirano ni kod jednog klasifikacijskog društva, što dodatno pojačava zabrinutost oko tehničkog nadzora i sigurnosti plovidbe, piše Splash247.
Popis je sastavljen uz verifikaciju podataka tvrtke S&P Global te objavljen kroz IMO-ovu platformu GISIS. Analiza pokazuje da su lažne zastave prisutne na tankerima, bulk carrierima, kontejnerskim brodovima, ali i manjim plovilima.
Nizozemska je otkrila dvije lažne internetske stranice koje su izdavale certifikate u ime St. Maartena – potvrđeno je 17 brodova pod tom lažnom zastavom. Francuska je prijavila lažnu pomorsku administraciju za Matthew Island, dok je Malavi razotkrio lažni registar brodova te slučaj prijavio INTERPOL-u. Broj brodova pod lažnom malavijskom zastavom smanjen je s 27 na osam.
Timor-Leste i Lesoto obavijestili su IMO da uopće ne vode međunarodne registre, nakon što su se pojavile krivotvorene potvrde. Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo upozorilo je na zlouporabu MMSI brojeva Bermude. Benin i Gambija proveli su čišćenje registra, pri čemu je Gambija uklonila 72 broda i uvela moratorij na nove upise.
Zabilježeni su i slučajevi lažnih AIS podataka za Bocvanu, krivotvoreni certifikati za Mali te 39 brodova pod lažnom zastavom Gvineje. Posebno se ističe Tonga – njezin međunarodni registar ugašen je još 2002., pa se brodovi koji koriste tongansku zastavu tretiraju kao brodovi bez državljanstva. Identificirano je 13 tankera. Komori ostaju među najpogođenijima, s 83 potvrđena slučaja lažnog korištenja zastave.
Prema podacima IMO-a, značajan broj lažnih zastava bilježi se i kod Gvajane (74), Arube (35) i Curaçaa (32), prenosi Pomorac.hr.
