I totally get it though, we've had 4 greyhounds pass in the last 15 years. And unfortunately 6 cats...
Every time it happens it makes me think why are we putting ourselves through this. But its hard to deny that it made their lives better made our lives better.

In the Middle Ages, the “toy” Italian Greyhound didn’t exist. Italian sighthounds were medium‑large hunting dogs, similar to today’s Greyhounds or Whippets (as shown by Pisanello and Mantegna). Small dogs were considered selection accidents — useless for real hunting!
