Alors que l’iPhone Duo vient tout juste d’être annoncé, certains propriétaires de Galaxy Z Fold8 cherchent déjà à reprendre quelques-unes des idées montrées par Apple pendant son keynote. Un utilisateur de Reddit a notamment recréé l’animation visible lorsque l’on déplie l’appareil, avec une transition particulièrement fluide entre l’écran externe et l’écran interne.1 iPhone Duo animation, take two! by u/moomanjohnny in GalaxyFold Le développeur explique avoir commencé à bidouiller son téléphone après le keynote, avant de constater que le Z Fold8 embarquait un capteur de charnière particulièrement précis. « Je me suis rendu compte qu’il serait assez simple de récupérer les valeurs du capteur de charnière et de les utiliser pour déclencher une animation de transition sur les deux écrans », explique-t-il. Concrètement, l’animation repose sur une application Android maison qui récupère l’angle d’ouverture de la charnière. Le développeur utilise des captures d’écran de ses écrans d’accueil externe et interne comme couches visuelles, tandis qu’un shader AGSL se charge de faire la transition entre les deux en fonction de la position de la charnière. L’API Presentation d’Android lui permet d’afficher le résultat sur les deux écrans. Dans sa première version, l’animation ne modifiait donc pas réellement l’interface système de Samsung : il s’agissait avant tout d’une preuve de concept reposant sur des captures d’écran. Le développeur expliquait alors qu’il aurait fallu disposer d’un accès beaucoup plus bas niveau à la System UI pour intégrer directement cet effet. Il a toutefois trouvé depuis un moyen d’intégrer plus directement son animation au système grâce à Good Lock, l’outil de personnalisation de Samsung. Le résultat reste encore assez instable, mais il dit avoir déjà bien avancé vers une version plus complète de son application. La première vidéo a rapidement circulé sur les réseaux sociaux, au point de surprendre son auteur. Celui-ci compte désormais publier prochainement son application de démonstration, probablement dès vendredi ou samedi.
