A jackdaw arrives at the birdbath just as I glance out the window today!

Me: 😃 ah you're here for a bath! Please do, go ahead

Jackdaw: Nope. Flies off

Me: Sparrows are cuter anyways 🙃

Another bather today. I've never seen so many birds coming to the birdbath. This one left so much dirt I refreshed the water after it left! In the last few weeks we've had hardly any rain, we really could do with some now 🌧 #waterforwildlife #gardenfornature #SundayYellow

Simply adding a few native perennial nectar plants will attract pollinators to your yard. These purple coneflowers are a favorite of the eastern tiger swallowtail

Ridiculously excited to see two visitors to my new bird feeder just now. It’s been up since July and not seen a bean til today. It’s only a tiny yard & cats patrol the ally. I put a quince tree in a dustbin a few yrs ago & they perched on that first whilst sussing things out. #GardenForNature

Dock, nettle, broad-leaved willowherb, creeping buttercup, herb robert, nipplewort & greater celandine, surrounding my micro-pond containing frogbit, brooklime & lesser spearwort. All growing from 6 inches of poor quality soil in a brick-bordered raised bed over a paved yard. 💚

A bug hotel doesn't need to be perfect—it needs variety, shelter and dry spaces. 🐝 Fill it with hollow stems, bark, drilled timber and dead wood, then surround it with flowers, long grass and fewer chemicals. Great wildlife habitats are built through diversity. 🌿 #GardenForNature
