On a lesser note, I like the way they handled “Gargantos”‘s power here. He’s a strong contender for most powerful being depicted on a magic card, up there with Molecule Man. Where Molecule Man’s showcases his power through versatility, Gargantos goes for inevitability.

Hey! The answer is in your question my friend. Gargantos and the E King are both great old ones, though E King is patchwork. Their perceptions and sanity isn't like ours as they exist in places beyond our stated perceptions. The Outer Dark relates because that's where the Great Old Ones reside.
Shuma-Gorath has also been described as N-dimensional. Does the Extinction King’s ‘Nth-dimensional sanity’ connect to the same idea? Is this dimensional nature shared by all Great Old Ones, or does it vary between beings? How does their origin in the Outer Dark relate to this description?
