2-I watched the show raw on TVer.jp but I have a lot of issues with the subs. I know Crunchy hates paying translators a real wage + they've been caught using genAl slop. I'm sure an underpaid overworked human was involved to an extent. I don't hate you, you're not responsible for the crap subs.

Generative Al steals from artists and writers, and regurgitates slop that is harmful to our field of heritage and information. Not to mention environmental impacts! Using GenAl to cut corners as a heritage or information professional not only casts a pall over your work, it costs you money via the loss of patrons, customers, and/or attendees.

I never want to play a game that uses GenAl at all. If I hear a game is made using even a small part of it (be it assets, code, even promotional material) then that signals to me that the person(s) that used GenAl don't *really* care about it. Art is the little things. I like looking at the little stuff and know "Huh, some person, on purpose or not, put that there." There's humanity in that. GenAl somehow feels less soulful then if you three 3 rocks in a box and told me it was your game.

Denis O. Fintech Professional | Al Solution Ar... The classical Al winter is here.. Everybody is running around with Jev or RLCD like it is the new kid on the block. Fast decisions, probabilities, confidence, structured outputs. No giant stream of generated tokens. Ooooh, ahhhh! Lol.. RLCD stands for Reinforcement Learning for Calibrated Decisions. But strip away the marketing and it is the familiar machine learning and statistics.. train a model so its predicted probabilities are calibrated against observed outcomes. But probability calibration is not a new concept. Neither are classifiers, scorers, discriminative models, confidence estimation, structured prediction or decision functions. Yet somehow Al changed generations and forgot its own field. Of course a system designed to make bounded decisions can outperform an LLM at bounded decision making. LLMs were never designed to be stable autonomous decision engines in the first place. Go back to Attention Is All You Need. It was not a paper about AGI, autonomous intelligence or a universal cognitive architecture. The Transformer was introduced as a sequence transduction architecture and demonstrated on machine translation. Then we became hypnotized by fluency at scale.. Hyperscale it enough, feed it enough human output, and the statistical continuation over bullshit became so convincing that an entire industry started confusing linguistic competence with intelligence.. Then we wrapped it in tools, memory, RAG, planning loops and agent harnesses and tried to turn a probabilistic sequence generator into an autonomous cognitive system. And the industry response to Jev is hilarious. We are rediscovering classification, scoring, regression, state estimation, structured prediction and bounded probabilistic decision making all over again when we already had all of this for decades if not a century (.!). Jev may be useful engineering. Yet everybody is acting shocked that direct decision computation can be faster and more stable than asking a giant autoregressive LLM to generate tokens about the decision first. It feels like the Al industry is suffering from dementia.. It went through machine learning, neural networks, reinforcement learning, probabilistic models, expert systems, cognitive architectures, search and planning.. Transformers came around, scale exploded, and somehow everybody forgot where we had already been.. Now we are walking around the same tracks in circle and calling it major progress. The deeper problem is simple. Hyperscaling did not breach the intelligence wall. It gave us extraordinary generative NLP, structured coding and generally better learned distributions through curated human labeled datasets.. But scaling the NLP did not magically turn it into a fundamentally different form of intelligence or superduper AGI.. Stable autonomy under uncertainty is still out of reach for GenAl. So now the industry is moving backward while calling it 'forward' or Jev.. and that, my bros, is your standard classical Al winter.

Vibe coding is bad for software development due to the potential lack of knowledge from the individual creating the code. With people trying to provide code that they potentially don't fully understand, issues that arise can't be quashed as easily. Imagine being asked to build a car, but you've only ever seen a car and never looked into how it actually functions. Once the car starts blowing out black smoke, how are you supposed to fix it? That's a boilerplate way to look at how vibe coders operate. A report from InfoQ highlights that despite Tailwind CSS - a framework for web design- having never been more popular, documentation visits are down 40%. This means more people are using Tailwind to create HTML code, but fewer people are following up when either running into a problem or wanting to learn the nuances of the software they re using to develop with. Following this trend, Stack Overflow, which was the main resource for answering a massive range of programming questions, has seen traffic effectively vanish since ChatGPT launched. Easy coding, huge risk Computer literacy is down across the board, despite us having one in our hands or pockets almost every day. What was once considered basic tasks, such as navigating a file system, are being lost on newer generations of users, who are then turning to Al to write code for programs. The key concern here is that GenAl models are designed to always attempt to provide an answer and are trained to behave in a certain fashion based on past interactions with users - to the point that if the chatbot doesn't have the answer, it will try to provide one, which is known as "Al hallucinations." Al-generated programs made by those who don't understand what they do are increasingly dangerous, since the person behind the keyboard may not understand what they - or Al - have created. This, in turn, puts the end-user at risk due to software packages that don't behave as intended or have unknown security risks. Looking at open-source project discussions on forums, multiple conversations are about how the person providing software, like plugins for media hosting platform Jellyfin, cannot recognize the potential risk that this puts on the user. It's why, in recent weeks, Apple has decided to remove a vibe coding app from its App Store, as they cannot mitigate the dangers of anyone deploying code.
