Second #dinovember prompt:

Plateosaurus.

A Triassic sauropodomorph that once lived in the floodplains of what's now both Germany and Switzerland, known from 100 specimens unearthed in the Trossingen Formation.

Lystrosaurus was an herbivore and one of the most common terrestrial animals preserved in the fossil record of the Early Triassic.

Atopodentatus was a herbivorous marine reptile of the Middle Triassic. Its hammer-shaped jaw was likely used for rooting around the seabed in search of food.

Meet Ammonitritor scientiacivium, a newly described genus of early ichthyosauriform in the family Omphalosauridae from the early Triassic of Norway.

Yes.. But also no.
Dragons clearly were dinosaurs. But dragonflies first appeared in the carboniferous, but had to wait patiently nearly 100 million years for the first dragons of the triassic.

Artober 2026 but it’s the Permian period - 28: Thrinaxodon

Drawing animals that existed right near the Permian-Triassic boundary for the last four days now. This guy is from the veeeeery early Triassic, I assume it had late Permian ancestors that looked a bit similar?

Artober 2026 - 30: Ichthyosaur

The oldest Ichthyosaur we know is from the early Triassic, so we suppose they appeared way before that. Triassic Ichthyosaurs didn't look like the ones in this picture, those look Jurassic, but it's been a bit of a meme to draw them where they don't belong...

Lystrosaurus was a meter-long early mammal relative that survived the worst mass extinction in Earth’s history, 252 million years ago. With no large predators surviving, it spread all across Pangaea, becoming the most dominant land animal in Earth’s history in the early Triassic.

Life… finds a way.
