I cannot believe the license fee #GeneCodes want to charge users for #Sequencher when there are many free alternatives out there, like #UGENE, #MEGA, #Jalview etc.
What are you using for things like local sequence alignment, primer design, ORF finder?

After 9/11, GeneCodes’ aDNA analysis helped identify human remains. Like many genetics researchers, I knew Gene Codes and regularly used its tools.

Its standard tools studied a few samples at a time—not thousands. GeneCodes had to build new ones for DNA analysis on an unprecedented scale.
