I miss spending thousands of dollars for a Sequencher license key 😢

Not sure if Sequencher is still around but this dongle was worth a small fortune 15-20 years ago. 🧪🧬

I started out in a wildlife disease surveillance lab in 2015, so was trained in the state of the art circa 2001 (and various devious permutations thereof). I think I’m the youngest person I know who was taught to analyze chromatograms in Sequencher 😅

I cannot believe the license fee #GeneCodes want to charge users for #Sequencher when there are many free alternatives out there, like #UGENE, #MEGA, #Jalview etc.
What are you using for things like local sequence alignment, primer design, ORF finder?

Authors published a paper in Biorxiv, they used Sequencher in the study. Including #RRIDs will make this less ambiguous.

#Wanted: running and alive:
Someone with an active #SEQUENCHER software license. I have a few old Sequencher project data files with #DNA sequence data (*.spf), but no access to the software. Anyone with access could perhaps help me export the files?
