Played around with the geofiz to orientate it to the aerial image. Here's the 2025 Durotriges dig compared to the geofiz.

The northern end of Hambledon hillfort #Dorset @nattrustarch.bsky.social is studded with the hollows of Iron Age house platforms

Ooo, we've one on Teesside, Eston Hills, bit damaged by 19C ironworking, now by quad-bike vandals. One side Early-Mesolithic & Later, t'other possible Neo henge into Bronze Age (w/pollen cores, test-pit finds & geofiz). Precious fragile places. It's wet Holocene 🏺 estonhillsproject.wordpress.com

Sorry, here's the geofiz, the area dug in 2025 being outlined in green. Hope that helps !

A magnetometry survey of the interior of Chilcombe hillfort #Dorset by Dave Stewart @buarchanth.bsky.social in 2013 recorded a large number of features which have survived ploughing

These include 13 Iron Age roundhouses and some later linear enclousures 🤩

We are to the immediate east of last years area, hoping to find out what these geofiz beauties are

Brilliant as another potential line of evidence. I just feel that the site (and available current technology) is ripe for a thorough scientific reexamination.

Geofiz?

#FlintFriday #FindsFriday 2019 throwback pre-Pandemic, fieldwalking after huge 60ha quad geofiz on a hill, Skelton-in-Cleveland NE Yorkshire, England (just S of Teesside). #Archaeology EVERYWHERE! Just a taster (Community project on-hold b/c of LongCovid). A lifetime's work: Mesolithic to Mining.

Back of last post, smiles today come from throwback memories of #Archaeology. So here's 2/2.
Street House NE England, earliest Neolithic salt-making in Britain, internationally important. Pot, flint, salt. 2m below grass, geofiz magnetics. Deep & complex.
> My wicked site plan (2016) no bottom yet!

You make a good argument. As I recall, Phil was quite old school and would be more keen to 'put a trench in' rather than mess about with geofiz.

Ah. I saw qub doing geofiz on a site above Castlerea I think. Carrick.must be commercial. They also love talking about what they're doing!

There's some previously planned 'fire-break' work going on later in the month in the Impact Area to help contain things and give fire brigade access. I imagine they will use geofiz kit as per Bustard/Redhorn route. 🤔

3/3 along similar lines, we got weird unexplored stuff on Eston Hills (more Neo than sense), Street House (Meso-overlap TBP!, and I did a 60ha geofiz on Airy Hill nr Skelton. It's covered. Just that I'm locked in Long Covid since 2020. clevelandarchaeology.com
