mapbox is great for rendering geojson-based isobars, but they can't really be animated nicely over time or interpolated. so I made a custom webgl layer that does realtime isolines + placement of mtsdf-based labels

I finally got around to writing GeoJSON parser for threejs. It supports triangulating & extruding polygons, and projecting all GeoJSON types onto an ellipsoid for integration with projects like 3d tiles! 🌎

I finally got around to writing GeoJSON parser for threejs. It supports triangulating & extruding polygons, and projecting all GeoJSON types onto an ellipsoid for integration with projects like 3d tiles! 🌎

One of my favorite datasets depicts waterways of San Francisco before colonialism drained and paved over many of them. Turns out one of the "lakes" was a copy of a copy of a copy etc etc of an ink spill on a Spanish chart from the 1700s that propagated all the way into a modern .geojson file.

My three-geojson repo now supports internal polygon vertices via constrained delaunay triangulation so extruded shapes can be projected onto an ellipsoid surface with generated smooth normals! 🌎

Since I’ve been using @beaconbits.app a lot, I’d probably put some time into GMaps export & import into BB shaped records.

Budiž mapy 🗺
Nová mapová komponenta, postavená na GeoJSON, postupně probublává a postupně nahradí původní mapy napříč webem.
Btw ta hračka zobrazující výsledky pro jednotlivé obce i preferenční hlasy kandidátů je docela zajímavá. Snadno v ní jsou vidět lokální osobnosti nebo naopak hluchá místa.
