#Glencullen Co. Dublin

Firefighting operations are continuing at the gorse #wildfire on the Dublin mountains at Glencullen.

High winds are driving smoke across a wide area and limiting visibility on roads. The smoke has travelled as far as the #M50.

We are asking residents to close all windows

Back into the woods today. This is Cruagh Woods at the river near the entrance to Tibradden. I _think_ that is the Glencullen River - please correct me if you know better.

At Knocksink Woods today the lower path was slippy near the river and blocked with trees, while the upper path was also blocked with fallen trees and resonated with the unnerving sound of creaking timber 😬. Ah well, a good time nonetheless.

Ballyedmonduff Wedge Tomb • Dublin

Located in the Glencullen Adventure Park, on the Dublin Mountains Way, this wedge tomb at Ballyedmonduff is one of the finest examples of its type in Ireland.

It dates to around c.2500 BC, and it is one of a number of wedge tombs in the Dublin Mountains

Beautiful deep heather on the slopes of Seefin Mountain. Merlin, Red Kites, Ravens cutting through the air. Crossed dried out sphagnum pools and saw the burn scars around Kippure. A procession around the old passage tomb. Driving home, Glencullen wreathed in flame, Glencree choked in smoke.
