thinking about how Soren achieving happiness even with his past sorrow and lineage is the most satisfying storyline in por/rd... sad children with nothing reaching forth their own happiness through their struggles ... it's just good.

I don't know if I'd call this an AU but I guess it's an AU: an idea of Soren having to take up his birthright as a bargaining chip to get countries to help him save Ike from whatever predicament he got himself in. The predicament is dumb but I love cheesy stories.

One fun little idea I want to explore sometime is the idea of making Soren the lead lord in a mission to rescue Ike and having him convince other lords to aid him. He'd just storm Goldoa to ask for help knowing his heritage, and I'm sure he could twist Micaiah's arm for taking the Daien throne

The idea with Soren is just that his mother and him were able to escape Daien with the help of Greil and that's where he met Ike as a little kid. He grew up in Goldoa, still thinking of his cute little beorc bff. So he runs away to hang out with him in this story. Almedha has a fainting chair.
