this might be partially our fault, but considering that only 5% of the 150 goldendiscs dvds i found were non-english-language, goldendiscs and other in-person dvd sellers are certainly not helping.

i have a lot of dvds. 590 in fact. i didn't buy most of them, most of them were bought by my brother from goldendiscs and other in-person dvd sellers. we don't have any blu-rays, we don't have a blu-ray player. out of these 590, there's only 18 non-english language films. 3%.

so i don't understand why goldendiscs doesn't make it part of their business model to provide older films that you can't find on streaming. i don't understand why they're repeating the same mistake. in a world where physical media is in danger, why don't they *do* something about it?

which like granted, there are *more* films on those streaming services, but there's still over 1,000 dvds on goldendiscs. why so few non-english-language?

i looked through the first 5 pages of the dvd section on goldendiscs website (sorted by alphabetical order). out of 150 films, 143 were english-language. that's 95%. in comparison, 65% of films on either netflix, disney+ or amazon prime are english-language.

and you can't buy a dvd of them from the biggest in-person dvd seller in ireland. because they're either too old or too foreign for goldendiscs.

goldendiscs is the biggest dvd/blu-ray shop in ireland. fight club, parasite, the truman show, home alone, se7en, taxi driver, and et are only available on blu-ray. dead poets society, spirited away, my neighbour totoro, goodwill hunting, and howls moving castle aren't available at all.

You going to buy one and you end up buying three #vinyl #Vinylcollection #Waterford #GoldenDiscs
