Once in a lifetime moment that I will NEVER forget. I've admired and photographed my favorite reptile since I was a young girl. This was the only time I've come across babies in their natural habitat. This was truly a magical day!!

Extreme drought conditions recently sent the Orianne Society burn crew to west Georgia to put fire on the ground in new #GopherTortoise habitat. The clay-rich soils here give these tortoises their unique coloration, and the crew turned up plenty of other #herps along the way.
