cutting the gordion knot:

the billionaires who own these news outlets like trump and his bigotry and fascism
The fact that any media frames any of this as “hotly contested” is despicable. Cynical me always goes “well, this drives traffic and that = money and that’s all that matters.”

But I think we’re past that point in 2026. I believe now that non-independent media actually wants to defend ICE.

Greg: so we've seen four attempts to untangle the Gordion Knot, and they've all been shit. Who's next Alex?

Alex: well finally Greg, armed with his massive sword as usual, it's Alexander the Great

[Alexander smugly turns to watch the VT]
Greg Davies: Great task, well done. Didn‘t eat a thing.

Persephone: Thank you.

Alex Horne: Ah. Well. Let’s take another look at that pomegranate.

Bold thinking. And exactly the attitude to take under the circumstances. But is the EU capable of bold action? This is the Gordion Knot of these uncertain times, when history is made!

Yep. I hate it, in large part for the intellectual bankruptcy it foments. Everyone spending so much effort in determining whether any given thing falls within or without the text of prior enumerations, when we could just cut the Gordion knot entirely

bsky.app/profile/mosh...
It's sort of funny how both sides had pretty pertinent points in that argument. Like England has not had a flourishing of unenumerated rights compared to ours, and a lot of our comparale rights seem stronger for having been memorialized. But, per fears, they're treated more as ceiling than floor.
