GridBeyond, a global leader in intelligent energy management, and Gore Street EnergyFund plc, a prominent international energy storage investment fund, have successfully launched the Big Rock battery energy storage system (BESS) in El Centro, California, marking a significant milestone in their collaborative efforts. With a capacity of 200 MW/400 MWh, Big Rock has the potential to supply up to 40% of California's regulation service needs during peak demand periods, and is secured by a lucrative 12-year fixed-price resource adequacy contract worth over US$165 million.
