Have to admit I did mock the old Grantium system from @artscouncilengland.bsky.social for being like something out of the Stone Age, but their new grant application portal is really good and easy to use. All credit to them for fixing it so well.

Grantium is the joyful portal to apply for funding through Arts Council England 🙃🙃🙃 ipad recovery at midnight sounds like it might have been next level 😬 Not sure I could do that even when fully awake!

The report blames the funding drop on the Grantium outage and claims the missing money will be invested in 2026/27. I guess we’ll see. But getting the Frankenstein edition of Grantium up and sort-of running will surely have eaten into that money.

I kept getting an error box that just said "null". I don't know what that was related to, but it felt slightly comforting because a random "null" was such a fixture of Grantium I'm hoping it's just one for the nostalgia fans.

Thought so 🙄 I find it very hard to believe that the only records of the decisions are on Grantium. And if that is the case, it clearly shouldn't be! Thanks for letting me know (I haven't had that email (yet?)). Ho hum. That's a stressful weekend ahead for a lot of people, then.

Just managed to get on to #ACE live chat. #DYCP applicants will be notified first BUT apparently ACE staff are still trying to figure out how to do this because they have always relied on #Grantium. (It's not rocket science, people, it's admin!) Might be next week now 😭
We want to reassure users, particularly those submitting applications or awaiting funding decisions, that we will be in touch with them later today, and we are putting arrangements in place so that everyone can access the services they need as quickly as possible.

It's unforgivable planning, isn't it? Grantium always crashes, so the idea you'd knowingly schedule two big deadlines on the same day is incomprehensible

If you know your rickety online application platform falls over whenever more than 5 people try to log on, don't set the deadline for two major funding rounds on the same day!
