the english longbow is the chud greathelm with a T shaped hole for game developers who begrudgingly include bows in their video game because the absence would be weird

one of the saddest things about knights of the nine is that, in the concept art for the armour set, you can SEE adamowicz trying to get the design away from just being a literal 1/1 greathelm crusader getup before getting feedbacked into the final one

I'm a big fan of Greathelm. Six models per side and a battlefield the size of a piece of paper.
But it's very different from other skirmish games.
In Greathelm, the value of the dice rolled at the start of the turn dictate the actions your models can take.

One of the great things about historicals is you can play lots of games with one force. With a load of vikings you can play Saga, Pillage and Greathelm, to name just a few. With a WW2 platoon you can play Chain of Command, Bolt Action, 0200 Hours, and more.

Welcome aboard the greathelm wagon. I confess I have not played once, but have a heap of doughty lads from buying plenty of figs for V2 Barons War (also, not played once...). But it looks a great system though that the dev is actively engaged with the community on. Also. A4 TRAVEL GAME!!

Got to play a greathelm demo, not yet sure if I liked it. The Drudenfuss demo though I loved. A lot of fun and cool mechanics.
