Andy Burnham summed it up perfectly yesterday. The #greatnorthrun really is the best of British. 60,000 people mostly raising money for great causes and many, many more supporting them financially, emotionally or simply through the power of encouragement. Always a great atmosphere

I was really proud to be volunteering at the #GreatNorthRun today. Deployed to the last 800 metres, I had a great perspective of the final dash to the finish line.
