Peak flower season is kicking in across Dja Dja Wurrung Country (Victoria, Australia).

Lots of varieties out at our place including Hardenbergia, Pink Bells (Tetratheca ciliata), Tall Greenhoods, and Matted Bush-pea (Pultenea pedunculata).

Greenhoods and milkmaids.

Very happy to see the greenhoods as last year none emerged due to the drought. This year though, we are seeing more than ever before thankfully.

Summer greenhoods (Pterostylis decurva) near Corin, ACT. Fairly widespread summer-flowering greenhood usually found above 800m altitude in ACT/NSW (also VIC + TAS). Can grow in large colonies but I've only ever seen scattered plants at this location.

Large mountain greenhoods (Pterostylis monticola) near the Cotter River, ACT. Like most of the larger greenhood orchids found at altitude in the ACT P. monticola is summer-flowering with some plants still in flower as late as March. #orchids #summer #Canberra #ozplants

Greenhood orchids in Lysterfield park, VIC - let your eyes adjust and after you see the first couple you will see hundreds along the trails and wonder how you missed them all these years.

I’ve been incredibly bad about updating this thread but check out this gaggle of (I think) trim greenhoods, Pterostylis concinna (there are a million greenhoods and they all look pretty much the same). Eltham, outer Melbourne 9 July 2026:

First quick East Gippsland winter orchid scout of the year came up with quite a few plants out - but only a few nodding greenhoods (Pterostylis nutans) actually in flower near Gipsy Point, VIC. But so far it looks like there'll be more out this yr than last #winter - which was much drier. #orchids

Greenhood orchid (Pterostylis sp.) near Mongarlowe, NSW. Possibly P. rubescens but there are several v. similar 'tiny greenhood' spe. also found nearby(ish). This group of smaller-flowering greenhoods (AKA Speculantha) can be tricky to ID without dissection -so not 100% sure what this is ;) #orchids

A Greenhood Orchid endemic to NZ & the Chathams, but more common as you travel south, growing in damp, heavily shaded forest. Distinguished from most other NZ greenhoods in that it lacks the usual rosette of leaves at the base, and instead only has them on the same stalk it eventually flowers from.

Hardenbergia

We used to have this and Running Postman growing tangled together on the fence when I was a kid, red and purple together

Spotted Pardalotes nesting in the clay bank behind the house

Blue Pincushions, Nodding Greenhoods, Billy Buttons

Wonder, peace

All lost to me now

But this, here
