Following Jersey's liberation from German occupation in 1945, artillery was collected by Islanders, and thrown over this cliff at Grosnez, as part of an island-wide "cleanup"

Six year old Cueros, died after suffering a broken leg in a fall during the Grosnez Handicap at Les Landes Racecourse in Jersey. He was euthanized after the incident.
