#GrowMoreFood! The roselle harvest of 2026 has begun! Roselle aka Florida's cranberry (Sabdariffa gossypiifolia aka Hibiscus sabdariffa) is a weird crop where we harvest the calyx from around the outside of the fruit & it tastes like cranberries.

Think gardening is hard? My advice: be flexible & don’t fight your plants.

This is my first indoor hydro exp. I’m growing seeds I already have to see what’ll like indoors, what won’t (with minimal input). I’ll only continue to grow what’s easy—adding new plants w/ similar needs later. #growMoreFood
My Vevor hydroponics kit was surprisingly inexpensive. I hate bright lights so made a lightweight flexy wall to keep light inside— the plants love it too! My bok choy and ground cherry are doing best. My lettuce is slower so we'll see.

Everyday you’ll pick another bowl of berries! They ripen at different rates and are so good at hiding their delicious fruits under their leaves. Nom nom.

This is just the first round of easy fruits for us. Brambles are all making baby berries rn.

Homemade sourdough waffles covered in wild strawberries and some (imo boring) bananas. My partner loves bananas for no reason I can find so we both share our fruits. Variety is key to health after all. We have waffle weekend every weekend! The best waffle recipe ever: save sourdough discard. Mix in whatever you like — cornmeal, buckwheat flour, teff flour, whole teff, oats, too many options to list here! Let them sour for several days in the discard. Mix. Keep moist. The night before waffles add a bit of oil or fatty coconut milk, a dash of sugar and salt, yeast (because your sourdough bacteria are dead by now) and any flavorings you like! Try oregano with cinnamon. I also love rosemary in waffles. Have fun with it. And ONLY use whole organic maple syrup. Of course!

#GrowMoreFood! Seminole pumpkin burgers were our dinner last night. A critter had plucked off a very green one & left it in the yard. I cut off the damaged parts & grated the rest. With eggs,onions,celery,flour,& cornmeal, it made 8 burgers.

#GrowMoreFood The Seminole pumpkin(Cucurbita moschata) has produced only male flowers so far. Squashes of all types produce male flowers first to attract pollinators. Fruit at the base of female flowers will dry up if they are not pollinated.

#GrowMoreFood Seminole pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) is native to Mexico, but was being grown in FL when the Spanish arrived. Butternut is a cultivar. This is a female flower with an immature fruit. It needs to be pollinated for the fruit to mature.
