Working on the contours of Strat Build #3, which I’m calling The Limelight, because it’s going to be modeled after the #guitar Alex Lifeson used on the iconic track of the same name. #Guitars #GuitarBuilding #Rush

This guitar features a narra (New Guinea rosewood) back and sides with an Engelmann spruce top. It'll sing its first notes very soon.

I'm excited to resume work on this guitar, which features a beautiful set of bubinga (there's an inner layer of cherry on the sides). With the top now attached, it rings like a bell.

So the good news is it’s all together and making noise. Bad news it’s not making the right noise. Suspect an earth short somewhere and somehow I have two volumes and no tone.

Sometimes that cheap neck you buy to see if is any good just takes a lot of work. Hopefully a bit more work will get it playing well. The fret ends were terrible. #guitar #guitarbuilding

Always great to get the neck pocket out of the way. Router game is getting better. Need to learn how to use a jigsaw properly next. #guitar #guitarbuilding

After two weeks of chasing fret buzz, making I’d worse, and so doing a full level and crown - it turned out to be a dodgy string. Fark! Some lessons hurt.
