pregnancy issues here fall under gynae until 16 weeks and then it’s over to obstetrics, midwives start at 10-12 weeks for routine care

you know when I really could’ve used inclusive language? when I was being called a woman, medically, when I was eleven on the gynae ward. I was still a child!!! with a period! Not a woman, yet!

you know when I really could’ve used inclusive language? when I was being called a woman, medically, when I was eleven on the gynae ward. I was still a child!!! with a period! Not a woman, yet!

after one hyperemesis pregnancy they just gave me the direct number for the gynae emergency line and told me to call them the moment I had a positive test next time

I’m extra frustrated because when I got sent to this same unit with appendicitis, a very good surgeon on the team operated, knew immediately what he was looking at, and called in gynae immediately and I felt validated and cared for and respected

Not only did I extremely have endo, but that initial fluid was blood from a ruptured ovarian cyst- due to endo- and then that irritated my appendix to the point that it went too.
Gynae saved the ovary.
