I don’t *try* to buy loads of guitars, but when the seller sends an even lower offer on their already keenly priced 1960/1 Hofner President with the serial number 666, it’d be rude not to.

Exactly. Hofner made parts for a lot of companies including Hagstrom and Kapa here in the US. But, Hofner and Hagstrom must have had very close connections since they both have very similar models.

KAPA 506 - 2pu sunburst hollowbody electric guitar Maryland 1969. For sale.

Kapa sourced parts from a few manufacturers including Hofner for its pups. This has slightly muted but super loud/bold neck & twangy bridge pups.

This Kapa 506 is an extremely clean, sunburst, hollowbody electric guitar circa 1969 and is 100% original! It features two Hofner-made pickups, one volume control and one tone control for each pickup. The guitar is relatively light (6 pounds 4 ounces) but has a full bodied sound. It plays and sounds great. Kapa guitars guitars were made from the early 1960s through 1970 in Hyattsville Maryland, USA. The guitar’s parts were most likely made in Japan and Germany then assembled in the US. The 500 series was in the Kapa line from 1968-1970. They have taken their inspiration from an earlier model the Kapa Challenger CH-6.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
