#HB2320
Washington just banned sharing the 3D-printer and CNC code used to manufacture ghost guns, machine guns, and untraceable firearms. Governor Ferguson signed it last month—the first state to make the blueprint files themselves illegal, not just the finished weapons.

The "firearms blueprint detection algorithm" one never made it out of committee (HB2321). The one that passed the house (HB2320) bans manufacturing, distribution, or possession (w/ intent to distribute/manufacture)

Having your IP on the cloud is a recipe for disaster. Unscrupulous persons, companies, and governments get to see what your doing, and in the matter before the Washington legislature (HB2320 and HB2321), even official scrutiny.

KCMS has worked to advance evidence-based, public health approaches to firearm safety because care teams see the consequences of firearm injury every day.

Yeah but also you can be sure things will be made much worse and annoying for everyone in trying to deny this possibility (Washington is also pushing one: www.reddit.com/r/3dprinter/... )

Thanks for covering this. My rep @repleavitt.bsky.social is on both HB2320 and HB2321 here in WA. HB2320 actually does include language regarding slicers, and criminalizes mere possession of any "illegal" files (also defines possession as equivalent to "intent to distribute").
