#HB5510
So I just learned about Texas (HB5510), a proposed anti-abortion bounty hunger law that will allow any Texan to sue anyone who posts, tests, emails, writes about, or otherwise provides information on how to get an abortion. It will also allow Texans to sue servers, websites, apps, and platforms.

Usually complains about online censorship are overblown.

Then there are exceptions, such as the proposed "abortion bounty hunter" bill (HB5510) that would basically
- declare abortion information "verboten" 😒
- mark anybody who shares it as a target 😱
- reward random people to hunt them legally 🤯
Texas is trying to making texting and posting about abortion online illegal. Please watch my video with @eff.org's Jennifer Pinsof about this terrifying bill and how free speech and bodily autonomy are intricately connected

*obviously I meant that Texas (HB5510) is a bounty hunter law but bounty hunger also kind of works

**and I should note that the proposed civil penalty starts at $100,000

Anyway, Texas (HB5510) is primed to pass, and if you're in Texas or you know a Texan and you care about not chilling abortion talk into some sort of digital ICE-9 hellscape, call your state reps because whoo boy it's terrifying.

Texas (HB5510) is the newest "version" of SB 2880 - HB5510 is the one includes penalties for even posting about abortion plus no lawsuits, court rulings, etc. may overturn it.

Want freedom? Leave Texas.

I just called my Texas house Rep over HB5510. They are now threatening to lock us up for speaking the TRUTH about abortion online. I may end up incarcerated here. I will speak the truth of what is happening to women here with my LAST BREATH. Young women are dying of sepsis here and GOP do NOT care.

Fellow Texans!!

HB5510 is pending! It imposes a travel ban on pregnant individuals & restricts access to abortion pills. All Republican committee members support it, 47-0. Call them to oppose it, or more women like Mallori Srait could face jail without due process.
