in UT-HD03(R+10.4) Republican Incumbent Thompson bailed on his own town-hall at the Logan Library on Thursday, so unaffiliated candidate Patrick Belmont did it instead

Do you know what's going on with Patrick Belmont in HD-03? He was on the list yesterday, disappeared off of it today, and his page on the Cache County Elections website has him listed as Pending with an asterisk next to it

If you live in Utah or someone you know who lives in Utah, especially HD03, but also the Salt Lake County Auditor - this would be a good time to run for office as a Dem before the filing deadline closes.
This is up in Cache valley, and Logan has been on the receiving end of a few cuts and job loses now.
This is how HD03 has trended which contains some of Logan. Despite a redder year it was barely R+10, and Logan itself was only R+6. This is fertile ground for UTDems in 2026 and beyond

Dearborn, Michigan saw a huge swing away from the Democrats last year, with Trump carrying #HD03 (which covers most of Dearborn) by 7 points after losing it by 56 in 2020.
