I might be mistaken. I don't know the last time I had a root beer (excluding Moxie) and those would have had HFCS where this one has real sugar.

Like the sarsaparilla, I may need to try one from Maine Root to compare and contrast.

History of the Filet-O-Fish

1962: 2.25 oz
1996: 3.4 oz (higher breading %)
1998: 3.0 oz (higher breading %)
2003: 2.55 (same breading as 1962)

In 2024 McD changed all of our buns. They took out HFCS and replaced it with sugar.

??? CFCs that the protocol was designed to remove are potent long lasting greenhouse gasses.
HFCs do at least break down.

Know the difference!

US Fanta: fluorescent orange, no juice, overly carbonated, high HFCS content

European Fanta: basically orange juice and slightly carbonated water, actual sugar

Only one is consumable

All the major 'Murican candies switched over to HFCS a while back to save like a penny a serving, and that was bad enough, but I swear they've since figured out how to make *cheaper* HFCS. Even my beloved Special Dark sucks now.

*In mice studies, in high-fat diets. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...

Probably grounds for future research but my baseline is that if there's a problem with seed oils it's analogous to HFCS: they make calories super-cheap and we overfeed on them, everything else is marginal.

Wife's autoimmune issues are always a factor in our bills as well. Primary driver is Wheat, which is in almost as many things as HFCS. It's a cheap filler/binder, it's a thickening agent in many sauces, etc. I've changed soy sauce brands three times in two years.

Suggestions [I am not a doctor]:

Look for HFCS-free foods;

Send snacks along w/ kids for mid-morning;

Look for alternative, non-sugary foods.

🥣✌️🙂🥛💚

Yrs later, planning breakfast for the morning of my SATs, I specifically stated "no pancakes", bc I didn't want to "crash" during the tests. 😁

I (suddenly) wanted to drop to the ground (for lack of energy) & cry (I had to "get thru" until lunch). I was irritable (thought I'd fight if I had had energy).

POINT IS, be aware that your kids may be experiencing these energy drops, if they're eating

HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP

(HFCS).

Tbh I think that you could probably reduce the need for some of the screening by not putting high fructose corn syrup in every single thing sold in your grocery stores. The last time I was in New York I saw a loaf of bread announcing it was HFCS free; why would there ever be HFCS in bread?

What a whack job. 🤔

What climate change?

It's the HFCS. I can't stand the texture or sweetness of it.

And in this case, it just tastes bad.

Apparently Coke sold in Mexico also uses cane sugar rather that HFCS so Jewish people seeking the kosher version ought to be shopping in their local tiendas. Or drinking Jarritos, also uses only cane sugar.

anyone saying you cant blind taste the difference between hfcs and cane sugar is insane or cant taste i dont know what to tell you

NZ Watties tomato sauce - sugar 19.2%

Oh gosh is this stuff AMAZING!! So absolutely tasty, & SMOOTH, compared to the HFCS version. Use caution when drinking considering these have 160 calories EACH. If you like Baja you’re really gonna love this 💕

Zero sugar Baja blast is garbage. I'll be switching to hfcs fountains from Taco Bell once a year as a treat.

to pay farmers to grow HFCS precursors, than it would to retrain and respec the food chain to produce enough food to distribute. This should, indeed, be a land of plenty. Instead it is a place where the filthy rich grow glutted on greed and the rest of us cut our pills in half or go without.

I just have to imagine there is an original recipe sans HFCS out there that the company could resurrect (and charge more for) if they really tried.
