It uses the same Shiny strategy of serving the static files from where they are installed, no need to move them around.

Build a table by declaring a JSON spec (titles, spanners, row groups, footnotes, formatters, etc.); a tiny vanilla JavaScript runtime builds the HTML table from the spec on page load. No 'sass', no 'V8', no 'htmlwidgets' — just base R and 'xfun' ('htmltools' is used only for the optional Shiny binding).

Entity lookup and rendering are handled in the browser by 'bio-tooltips'; this package does not query biological databases from R during package checks.

{hypertext} is a DSL for building HTML in R.
it's similar to {htmltools}, but with 2 deliberate differences:
- it is *framework-agnostic*
- it has *zero dependencies*

we now have more web frameworks in R than ever before. {hypertext} works with all of them, and independently of them.

Any #rspatial / #tmap folks know how to do linebreaks in legend titles in 'View' mode in {tmap} v4 and care to help a fella out? I'm probably missing something obvious but equivalent methods I used to use in v3 aren't working for me... (reprex in alt text)

{leaflet} in R could be used if you're okay to have users access a website to look at it.

You could use {htmltools} to inject some JS into the leaflet map to capture additional data.
