This was a (pleasant) surprise to me indeed!

According to HTTPArchive data as of Nov 24, Preact is detected 3.7x times more than Angular and almost 0.85x compared to Vue

Without any data to back this - I'd bet on more 3P widgets shipping Preact (which is a great choice given their lower overhead)
A chart shows the number of websites using different frameworks as of November 1, 2024, according to the HTTPArchive. React leads with 1,085,429 websites, followed by Vue.js with 457,208, and Preact with 390,341. Angular is used by 104,389 websites, Svelte by 53,548, Astro by 9,928, SolidJS by 144 websites and 11ty by 132.

I wanted to call out some tools from the community this month.

First up, @calibreapp.com have a Web Site Leaderboard of key areas:

Similar to the Core Web Vitals Tech report it uses HTTP Archive data but then groups it by industry.

The January HTTPArchive report is out and the increase in Astro adoption is jaw-dropping. Up 11.8% on mobile and 14.6% on desktop sites. This is backed up by our own telemetry and npm downloads too. Downloads up 40% from pre-holidays. Everyone's vibing Astro sites!

I've not been great about pulling HTTPArchive data every month, I've only got 5 grabs in the last year or so, but in them 2613 custom elements appear in each, and increased each month.. If only we had some group studying this.

We use Wappalyzer (before they went closed source) for the technology detection and here's the definition:

Which looks like a simple check on the `litHtmlVersions` global JavaScript object so hard to see how that's could be misdetected?

Looks like we detect for either `__NEXT_DATA__` or `next.version` globals or `x-powered-by: Next.js` HTTP header:
