Aster Hydis and Hydef aren’t funded enough to give a breakthrough within a decade. Well Aster does work but it’s a ship system can’t handle the newest BMs. experts please correct me

That is really childish. Especially as the future IRIS-T HYDEF could provide an additional layer of defence for the endo-atmospheric phase against guided hypersonic weapons, thereby complementing the Aster. That would benefit everyone.

Why not work on a cheaper more mass producible version of Aster? There's also IRIS-T-SLX and HYDEF already in development.

Hydef ist ein EDF Projekt in Konkurrenz zu Hydis (MBDA FR). Weiterführung ist im EDF26 call enthalten. Förderentscheidung wird im Marz 27 getroffen werden. Nur noch ein System wird gefördert werden. Bin mal gespannt, ob Entscheidung technisch oder politisch getroffen werden wird.

It's meant as a layer between IRIS-T SLM and Patriot. Not designed specifically for ballistic targets. IRIS-T HYDEF will do that.
