Because there's an obvious point - it would be much much easier to keep the earth habitable or make it more habitable than it is than any other planet and we're also not doing that
It’s probably even worse than that. Belief that mars colonization is imminent is a great litmus test for whether someone has a shred of an idea what they’re talking about

Because there's an obvious point - it would be much much easier to keep the earth habitable or make it more habitable than it is than any other planet and we're also not doing that
