#Hadash
Hadash and Ta'al + Balad are pretty open about this indeed.

It's telling that the short hand for this bloc is always the "Arab parties," when the Joint List includes Hadash, explicitly formed as an alliance of Palestinians and Israeli Jews to fight for justice together. Hadash initially included the Israeli Black Panthers, and has always had a Jewish MK.

hadash is the only party i support
The Foundation for the Defense of Democracies is in full-blown panic mode about the fact that the 48-Palestinian parties of Israel have reached an unprecedented 19 seats in the Knesset, and so they are now trying to fearmonger about Hadash and Balad.

Here's FDD's pitch: racial equality is bad.

The 48er parties are totally rational to supply confidence but what'll happen when a vote comes up to renew the extension of civilian law in the Jewish settlements of occupied Palestinian territory and Balad, and hopefully Hadash and Ta'al, vote it down and the government collapses? Who's to blame?

Balad, Hadash and Ta'al call for a state of all its citizens
October 28, 2026 at 9:38 PM
Perhaps instead of describing the Israeli election factions as "Jewish" and "Arab" parties, we can call them "Apartheid" and "Anti-Apartheid" parties? There are a hell of a lot of Jews in Hadash, which is usually described vaguely as part of the "Arab parties," and words matter!

Yes the actual issue is not Netanyahu but rather that Yashar, Together and Yisrael Beiteinu all categorically reject a coalition with the Arab parties including Ra'am, let alone Hadash-Ta'al and Balad.

I believe the communists are considered an Arab party, though their list includes both Jewish and Arab politicians and has support among voters across ethnic groups

Israelis rarely talk about Hadash as a scary communist party, besides "islamists" the usual message is that they are "terror supporters", the enemies within.

one small thing I'm noticing amidst all the speculation: the media shorthand "the Arab parties," which covers the Joint List and Ra'am, effectively erases the 10k or so Jewish voters who form part of the base of Hadash (one of the parties in the Joint List).
October 28, 2026 at 6:09 PM
Yeah, this. Arab parties in Israel aren't remnants like UDMR. Other than Hadash, they date to 1990s emancipation, when many Arabs voted for the Zionist left. But Barak left Arabs so disillusioned it created modern electoral segregation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_sa...

the Joint List includes Hadash, which used to be the israeli communist party and has many jewish members even though in media shorthand it is one of the "arab parties"

Hadash doesn't just draw support from these voters but systematically reserves spaces on its list for Jewish MKs in line with its bi-national platform. what this tic says, effectively, is that a Jew who goes too far to the left "becomes" an Arab or disappears from the "Jewish" public.

Hadash is part of the Joint List, generally considered part of the Arab coalition.

a two-term limit law, and establish an organizing committee and temporary committees.

Then, alongside these steps, form a government with Ra’am and the support of Hadash-Ta’al, and begin bringing this country back to sanity.

"No one talks about the left in Israel anymore," says the Atlantic. Yet the Israelis who voted for the Joint List earned the group 11 seats in the Knesset.

The Joint List consists for three parties including Hadash, the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality.

If he means Ta'al and Balad then Ra'am + Hadash will put the Change Coalition over the top. It would be weird - Hadash and Ta'al have the same views on the issues that matter to Jews - but Ta'al is Tibi's personalist vehicle and has been called out by name over so many elections.

Do we think there were Jewish closeted Hadash voters?
October 28, 2026 at 2:17 PM
TS By the way, when calculating coalitions it's good to remember that the Joint List is a technical bloc - it's possible to join in coalition with just Ta'al or just Hadash, if necessary
אגב, כשמחשבים קואליציות כדאי לזכור שהמשותפת היא בלוק טכני - אפשר לצרף לקואליציה רק את תעל או רק את חדש, אם צריך

It is true that this is not the outcome we had hoped for. But given that this is the result, the leaders of the pro-change bloc have an obligation to seize the rare opportunity that has presented itself.

19 seats for Hadash-Ta’al and Ra’am.
