if you are a Dem who for whatever reason does not feel comfortable actively defending trans rights (which you should) you have two good response options:
1. ignore it! just keep running ads about the economy
2. “I am focused on your pocketbook, my opponent is focused on children’s genitals”

"This election is about the threat of trans kids" is the worst possible messaging for Dems yet so many candidates are leaning into it. No voter will flip R->D over it. Low-info voters read this as "you're focused on bullshit that doesn't affect me" while the base reads this as "you're an asshole."
You should contact Peltola on her website and tell her how hurtful this ad is to actual trans people, and ask for some sort of assurance to the community. She‘s clearly doing an exact words gambit and is empathetic enough that she will probably listen.

I mean that does elide the fact that Manchin did a lot of damage to the party overall because they didn't punish him for the harmful positions he took, and as such it would make sense to punish the party for accepting candidates using trans rights as triangulation.

One thing I think Dems could manage better would be tying the war in Iran to the Republican party in general. Because I think the current narrative is that Trump unilaterally did something really dumb and screwed everything up. But the GOP has been calling for this war for decades.
