My roommate is an animanga fan but I'm too self conscious to say the things I like/read bc how am I supposed to explain that I read awful revengeslop as a hobby and also play random ass obsolete handheld games that are 10-20 years old

no problems so far! at least with genshin! playing it on a handheld with a true controller experience plus a second screen on the bottom for interactive maps or videos is mind-blowing!!

I loved it. I played it on my Xbox now, I'll buy it for my switch. I enjoy metroidvanias so much better on handheld. 🥰

Wave Race 64 turned water into a character. Nintendo hasn't touched the series since GameCube, and Switch 2's handheld mode is the first reason since then to believe those waves could return at 60fps on your commute.

Pocket Nova/Pocket 6 are great, just not on the same level as a PC handheld for compatibility with PC games.

Ok so Shadow of Mordor (even the shitey Aspyr port) is an excellent handheld game, got thay perfect combo of moreish combat and bite-sized encounters that makes it both irresistible and conveniently put-downable. Who'd have thought. Anyone who had it on Steam Deck I suppose

I hated the psp but I loved the Vita. But I mean more for the separation of handheld on the go and home games

If it's an action game of some kind you can use Steam's streaming service to play from your phone in bed or something.
I enjoy the handheld vibes, but they're not for everyone.

All of these handheld devices are sort of awful, because they're not trying to be handhelds. They want to be consoles or PCs on the go... and they can't. Not in the form factor.
The performance (while bad) doesn't even really bother me that much, I'm just shocked people aren't more honest about it.

They don’t care. They seem to only care that they can play it handheld whether the port is good or not lol.
I know I can’t do it myself.

The problem is that the S2 isn't powerful enough to run almost any of these games that are being ported to it.
I'm just sort of shocked that people aren't more critical of the technical aspects of a lot of these 3rd party releases on the system.
