Found old pics of an otter I did forever ago! This was back when I was still doing hardshells and was a custom sculpted nose for the job- I havent made a new mold as yet for the solft masks, I dont think this species has come up at all since then. I prolly should tho.

My fav ones to draw are large hardshelled ones and small froglike ones tbh.
Hardshells are fun because since they're so solid it takes more effort to lay.
But the small ones are just fun because of sheer quantity... SO many eggies...

Especially bc with hardshells, it feels like there is a much quicker to reach limit on how many you could fit before they'd start damaging eachother. BUT I imagine its less messy.
Softshelled ones would have some leeway all packed and squished together like that... And there'd be a lot of leakage

Love how surreal these lil hardshells are. I always expect an fx tech following with the remote control rig for it.
Just a horseshoe crab doing its thing. Its thing is heading back to the water after a volunteer rescued it from being stuck on its back and left behind by the tide. 😅 I love the scraping noise they make as they move along the sand.

That said, gotta use soft tortillas, especially flour ones if not making them fresh. Storebrand hardshells are just Bad Nachos and don't add to the flavor.
