Winning my first game of commander at HasCon in 2015. I was always bullied as the worst Magic player in middle/high school when playing sixty card kitchen table magic, and even in college i didn’t really win. Winning against randoms with a handmade deck made me fall in love with Magic.

I was lucky enough to see Peter Cullen and Frank Welker at HasCon that one time.
And at the hotel later, it was fun to walk around with some fan who I just met and see him lose his shit bumping into him in the lobby. Everybody loved the guy so much.

often I think back to Botcon 2004, and how Peter Cullen's panel received such ovation that he was moved to tears, in part because it was recognition for a role that had at the time been so far behind him

It's kinda pointless to hang onto that card but i also don't really feel like getting rid of it either, tho whenever i think about it i mostly think thats like a $200 bill sitting in a binder doing nothing. (I did not spend that, i got it for whatever the hascon set went for on release in 2017)

I dislike all the non wotc ip in magic so much now that I'm kinda glad i never built a Transformers commander deck around the Hascon exclusive Grimlock Dinobot leader or picked up any of the TF cards that came later.

2017’s HASCON by Hasbro is easily one of the absolute BEST cons I ever went to. And Hasbro put on that show themselves.

God, yeah. Absolutely don't need or want it, but looked at it and thought "Oh that's a fun idea for a special, niche exclusive." Feels like the sort of thing that, if HasCon still existed, would have been best served as an exclsuive for an "industry inside" kinda show like that.

Eight years ago TODAY, I walked into HasCon, saw the announcements for several Prime Wars-era figures, and bumped into Stan Bush on my way out of the first panel.

Yup it was HasCon. Kicking myself now for not buying the cards when I had the chance, but at least I have the Grimlock art on a playmat.

This came in a special three-pack at HasCon (possibly SDCC?) in 2017. It was Grimlock, a Nerf card, and a D&D card.
