If I had a dollar for every time Jetfire specifically has been packaged with comic crossover characters from other IP's and sold as a big ticket exclusive set at San Diego Comic Con,
I'd have 3 dollars.

One of the best written YouTube channels is making an RPG let's play using WoD's super complicated Grant Morrison Kathmandu kidnapping conference talk simulator, there was zero reason for every online creator to shill D&D so hard. Clearly there's a desire for cool stories outside the Hasbroverse.

Y’know up till now I was enjoying RID/Transformers/Optimus Prime on pretty even footing with MTMTE/Lost Light but even with both titles taking dips in quality following the relaunch, the Hasbroverse shit is tipping things in favor of LL

(primarily Hasbroverse becasue Combiner Wars was a mess but one story, Hasbroverse wouldn't ever end until Unicron saved the day)

But when it hits RID/MTMTE, the comic is suddenly very consistently good and I can recommend it!… and then the Hasbroverse is introduced and things get muddy again
This doesn’t so much affect Lost Light, which does dip a bit in quality but makes up for it significantly by the end…

Astounding to me that they’re going full bore into a Hasbroverse again even though the first one fucked up so badly it tanked its TF comics and had to have a complete reboot.

It didn't do either, really. The IDW books had been on a slow downward sales creep for years, pretty normal for something so long running, and the Hasbroverse didn't pull them out of it OR make them drop any faster.

While they could get comics, animation, and films from such a unification, merchandising would be very limited.
And even the non-toys projects would still have to get some oversight from Toei to get made. So, Hasbro isn't in any rush to go all-in on a unified Hasbroverse just yet.

Yeah “season 2” was really fuckin good I must admit, and there was no Dark Cybertron to ruin the ending like last time :D I am very wary going into “season 3” though because I know that’s when they start doing “Hasbroverse” stuff but I guess I’ll see how I feel about the execution

I've loathed crossovers for actual decades at this point. That said, I absolutely loved the IDW Hasbroverse and both their Revolution and Unicron arcs/ crossovers. I even have a promo poster for Revolution framed and up on the art wall.

Interesting that Chris Ryall throws shade at his IDW Rom work being lacking for not being able to use any of the Marvel stuff. Especially as, IRRC, that was seen as the best of the Hasbroverse stuff!

I wouldn't call ti indecisive editorial; my editor was great, and she was getting insanely conflicting direction herself. It was the LICENSE that was the issue, and I gathered that Hasbro or IDW pulled the plug on the whole hasbroverse very suddenly and everyone was scrambling
