I had almost given up on the Black Redstart in Hathern today when I heard a familiar call and there it was on the roof of the Nave. It quickly vanished and was relocated on the West side of the tower and usually around the barred windows. #ukbirding #vc55birds

104. Hathern, NW of Loughborough. The village has long been known as ‘Wicked Hathern’, now the name of its brewery. When Rev ETM Phillips became rector in 1808 he found his parishioners were prone to fighting & misbehaving in church, but he took a firm stand & behaviour improved.
