Had a lovely walk around Hawkenbury Rec #TunbridgeWells this morning. I was so happy to see our little library well stocked. It's proved a great success. Heard lovely birdsong - robin, wren, blue tit, ring-necked pheasant and nuthatch. (Thank you Merlin App!)

Had a lovely evening at Friends of Hawkenbury Rec Committee Christmas dinner at TN1 in #TunbridgeWells. Good food and great company. Slight hitch with my sequinned jumper which kept catching between my arms and body. Nail scissors had to be deployed surreptitiously to free me so I could eat 🤣.

#Influence Woods are part of my life, especially Benhall Wood near Hawkenbury, Kent, where I spent many happy childhood hours walking the family dog. But the woods of Shropshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, and now Somerset are also special to me.
In a wood you can still hear magic.

We are incredibly lucky to have Fullers in #Tunbridgewells. The Hawkenbury shop is within walking distance for me and the Bunny Lane shop an easy drive. There are also a remarkable number of other great butchers in the area. Very unusual these days - please treasure them.

Definitely one of my favourites. Hurst Wood is a great spot to see them, along with High Wood in Hawkenbury. Then the bluebells take over and get all the attention. 😊

Here’s the tourist information film we made 20 years ago. YouTube hasn’t coped particularly well with the old digital camcorder footage, but I think it still gives a flavour of our neighbourhood.
